Lets Go Fishing

                         Lets Go Fishing

                                                                The Benefits

Many anglers I have come across in my Angling years almost all have said that fishing is their hobby but I believe FISHING IS A SPORT, generally a peaceful sport, where you wait for a fish to bite and all of this time is a great opportunity to just sit back and relax. If you are fishing solo, the water is one of the best places to sort out your thoughts. When you're out there, no one is bothering you, and the only sounds you hear are those of nature. This is one of the best places for reflection. Especially on the ocean where there is nothing around you but the water, you can really soak in the vastness of it and just enjoy being solo on the water for a few hours. If you are on a river, you can enjoy the soft sounds of the flowing water beneath you. Even the quietness of a lake is a relaxing place to be.
This type of isolating situation really taps into your creative side and allows you to open up and crack jokes about anything and everything. It also gives you a chance to get away from your normal, everyday scene, and really get to know your self better
This type of experience is hard to come by, and fishing offers it for free. Fishing also teaches you patience . It can be tough to sit there for hours without a bite, but it teaches that some things in life don't come quickly and easily and must be waited on. There are many  lessons of life that can be learnt through fishing. When you finally do get a bite, the reward of finally catching a fish brings about a great deal of happiness. It is a sense of accomplishment, knowing that you caught it, and you're patience finally paid off. It's good to know that all of that time was worth it-just like the other things in life that must be waited for.

Did you know that when you go fishing you also exercise? Most people probably do not know that, but with the many things involved in this activity, you unknowingly have just done some serious muscle stretches.
To emphasise the point, being healthy and fit does not necessarily mean doing strenuous workouts on a daily basis. You can be in good health with just few simple moves. For a start ,going fishing is a great way to enjoy a holiday. And what better way to relieve stress than to take a break, right? So, simply communing with nature has already given you one benefit for your body.

Most fishing spots are usually located near mountains and rocky shores then you get to walk, climb, and weight-lift along the way. But where does lifting occur? Well, you would need to carry your gear and other stuff towards your destination, right? So, indirectly, you are doing some weight lifting exercises. With just a few moves, you have exercised the muscles of your arms and legs. Then you need to cast your lures in the water. This requires some form and power in order to lure your catch. By just repeatedly doing that, then you have given your upper arm, shoulders, and back a good workout. But, probably, the best advantage you would gain from this activity is refreshing your mind. Nature has a way of calming your senses and restoring it to a better condition. Those hours spent outdoors certainly will help to recharge your batteries. The chance to spend time watching wildlife ranging from Turtles to birds is also a special treat. Fishing can be exciting because you never know what you're going to get. When you catch something new it's exciting, and when you catch something big you're very proud of your accomplishment and strength.

sportfishing can be an important part of a healthy lifestyle. Let me point out the most important benefits of fishing to your life today.
1. Promotes Meditation. For someone who has been living a busy life or someone who gets stuck in a hectic schedule, going out for a fishing trip from time to time helps ease out and release your tension. The calming effects by the ocean and the fishes bring about this great health benefit. When you go to fishing, it’s as if you’re body is totally freed out and reborn. A revitalizing feeling that you never thought to exist.
2. Increases body circulation. As you cast your fishing reels out there, you will be able to enhance your body’s blood circulation through out your body. Not only by casting that our body circulation is prompted during fishing. Generally, fishing is the best form of exercise. The activities entitle towards each fishing trip are good enough to promote good body circulation to one’s body.
3. Creates quality moments for family. Many psychologists had been recognizing team sports as one way to promote cooperation and ties, especially with the family. Fishing in particular is just one of those to be mentioned sports that create quality time and moments to every family who goes out to fishing trips more often.
4. Increases judgment and logical thinking. Fishing is not just a mere activity requiring strength and agility. It is also a mind game that requires you think carefully as to which time and where to cast your reels for you to catch those fishes.
5. Promotes environmental awareness. Many fishers nowadays are learning to give value and importance to of water-life, specifically the fishes. You will hear numerous numbers of people today raising public awareness on water life. These are all results of constant interaction with the water world.
And when the day is done and you have not caught a single fish, be grateful for the chance you had to reflect and relax. So Lets Go Fishing now for your well being .

Utterly Butterly Delicious

............................................................... Fantabulous Fish }---('> Utterly Butterly Delicious
Only last week I had come back from a memorable fishing trip , A very good friend of mine from Murud paid me a visit in Mumbai and gave an invitation to attend his sister's wedding in Murud , so had to go once again only for a day to attend the wedding , which in our village mostly all religious rites are done in the morning between 10am - 12.30pm followed by a lavish lunch in the mango garden covered by Shamiana and by 4pm I was a free man.

Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Ofcourse I had brought my telescopic rod tied to the side of my bike, a reel and only two faithful lures in the dickey of my bike, I now arrived somewhere in Alibaug and waited impatiently for the Sun to Kiss the Horizon , then looking for some action I pulled out my Rod and alone by the sea resumed one of my Old Habits {Old Habits Diehard }
and soon was involved in a few minutes of action ,excitement and pure pleasure, honestly speaking only this one time I wanted to end it quickly Wink and felt very relieved when the action was over in a few minutes Razz The out come was a decent size MJ , now folded my wet rod back into the cover, put the slaughtered fish in a big plastic bag and headed towards Mumbai only to reach home in time for dinner
The next morning Wifey and the kids insisted that I cook this fish in my style as it had been long since I last cooked in the house, I agreed quickly hoping for a reward in return hearts Wink after descaling the fish, I marinated it in G& G paste and select herbs for twenty minutes then put a paste of my favourite masala and brushed it with melted butter and off it went in to the mircowave oven for dozens of minutes with frequent breaks for re application of melted butter and guys I simply have no words to describe the floating Aroma of the perfectly cooked fish which made every one in the room very very Hungry , the Mangrove jack refused to lie in a humble plate so had to be accommodated in a tray with a lettuce carpet & very soon the whole pride was busy digging their paws in to the jack

Enjoy Guys All are Invited Razz

Masti in Murud with Moorjani Omesh

Masti in Murud with Moorjani Omesh

It has been quite a while since Omesh Moorjani , an enthusiastic  young man of 25 from pune had been requesting me to take him along for some saltwater fishing which he had never done before { Omesh is a fresher in freshwater  angling too ;-) } so I decided to invite him to witness some live action   this month  and after getting my call Omesh promised to leave pune as early as 4am in the next morning but was caught napping till 8am ha ha haaaa I got worried when he did not show up at the agreed place at 8 am by which he should have arrived if he left pune at 4am  but he then woke up at my call { LOL} and said  will be leaving in a few minutes  but his actual journey started at 11.30am  and by the time he reached my place it was already 5.30pm  we finally  met and  after a quick intro & freshening up, hurriedly left to do some casting at sunset , upon reaching the spot we were greeted by high waves & heavy winds,  every thing was going wrong that day, so had to pack up & back to my beach house , after dinner as Omesh wanted to lift his spirits high with some spirits so took him to a quite place away from my house  on the beach side but I was surprised to find my   angler buddies who are also from the same village they were there baiting & waiting  Wink to bag some fish for the next days lunch we all were enjoying the cool seabreeze when my former partner got a big good bite on his bait followed by a run , a quick glance at the rod and I instantly declared that the fish is big and above the 3.5kg mark and the other angler who is watching also declared it to be a big Barra but I differed claiming it to be an Mangrove Jack judging by the run it was taking in every directions and then I guided the angler to play the fish to a safe point from where the fish could be landed easily and I am happy that he heeded to it and landed the fish on the land  as he did not have any gaff with him
O Man we both were wrong it turned out to be a big fat 6kg grouper , after a long time I had seen some one successfully bag a grouper that big from the shore in bait fishing as these species are notorious from taking the bait and diving into the rocks for cover and then its nearly impossible to get them out of there once they are secure inside their hole .
Watch the video  of the grouper --link below

the following night we both sat chatting about anglers and angling till late 3.30 am and next morning woke up early and headed to a new fishing spot  and strangely the Bloody stray dog this time chased us while going to fish and not while comming back with the catch , I let out a big ROAR and he quietly gave up the chase Bad Grin Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Laughing

had to take the necessary permission to fish on the site of an ongoing  govt project and since the weather had turned rough I had taken baits along with me  so as to try baitfishing  aswell if casting does not yield anything
the water had turned murky as the rough waves  seemed to be churning up the ocean floor and in vain I tried different   coloured  lures  of different actions and depths but of no use now we had our breakfast on the rocks and decided to do some baiting n waiting ;-) for the fish to come to us another hour passed by and  nearly all my baits were stripped out from the hooks by crabs and moray eels  the rough waters tossed the bait around  making it hard to detect bites and the humidity and the sheer heat was also punishing we did not realise that one litre of electrolyte  drink and two liters of water were over and we  both were feeling very thirsty now so I decided to do a bear grylls and search for water [LOL] luckily found a fresh water trickle from the foot of a mountain beneath a large rock there was a clean water puddle and we quenched our thirst with belly full of natural water  , omesh  at first had some worry lines on him about drinking water directly from the ground but no sooner he tasted it  declared it to be more better tasting than perrier the famous  bottled water Laughing
the fresh water seemed to infuse some fresh enrgy in us and we moved to another point a little further  and there to my horror I discovered that I had only one bait fish left !!!   Oh no !!! Crying or Very sad    I generously  carved out two big pieces from it and casted one  attached to my hook and in a few minutes  felt some slight nibble  and then a  swift run !!! Qiuckly I set the hook and began to enjoy the fun ,  Omesh also cheered me enjoying every moment of the action  standing firm by my side the fish was landed --  a big Beautiful
Black Spot Snapper(Lutjanus fulviflamma)  otherwise known as Dory snapper and locally known as lasha   and again I placed the last piece of bait on the hook and casted at the same place asking god to give me one more fish on this last piece of bait and almost immediately had a run setting the hook I felt  that something big was in no mood to come closer  and I guessed it might be a big MJ  as it was moving around very fast  and I was having a hard time controlling the fish amidst high waves and the fish was diving again and again in between the rocks rubbing my line  and I was beginning to lose hope of bagging this fish  and all of a sudden I called out  loudly " O LORD ALMIGHTY  take him out "  and in the next couple of minutes  the fish was landed and it turned out to be a handsome Blubber lip snapper and honestly guys this is the biggest  of Blubberlip snapper caught till date  by me
Sadly Omesh had come only for a day  as he had no leave from his office he left the next day with a lion's share of the fish and  lots of happy memories  promising to be back again with new tackle    and I appreciate the young man's adventurous nature &  enthusiasm which made him drive 200kms on a hot summer day only to meet me  and  witness some salt water action - GOD BLESS YOU Omesh Moorjani  coolup

The quest begins with a joy ride Razz  Always Winners We are !! and Will be !!  coolup coolup

Hip Hop on the Bouncing Boat happydance Laughing

Happy Days are here again   yum   yum  yum superkewl

                                                 Omesh with the Catch

A glimpse of the 6kg grouper

After omesh left  I decided to relax the next day and pluck fruits from my garden  and again on the third day left early in the morning to another Fishing location   today the water was a little bit calmer but still murky and once again was all alone  up to my old fishy tricks ;-) and ha ha haaaaa was rewarded with a barramundi   and a couple of dory snappers on bait  suddenly having realised that any more fish and my icebox will not allow it in I then stopped fishing and headed back to my Beach house only to drive back to Mumbai the next day  all loaded with Fruits ,Fish and Fishing tales to narrate to my eagerly waiting kids
Enjoy the pics guys & don't forget to wish me luck for my next fishing trip ;-) Thank you in Advance
