The Lion and his Pride

…………………………………………………The Lion and his Pride

Life throws opportunities at us in unusual ways. Sometimes an insurmountable hurdle, or a cruel trick of destiny, might actually be an opportunity in disguise. Develop a perspective to identify them and you'll be amazed
Recently my friend's father passed away after a prolonged illness and I had to go to konkan to attend the funeral, train seats were not available nor were the bus seats all were running full due to the vacation rush !! So had to take my car and drive whole night to be there on time for the funeral which was scheduled in the morning , both my sons Hanif & Ahmed also decided to tag along and give me company .upon reaching there my Marathi friend was very glad that I had come so far only to pay my last respects to his father , he even told this proudly to his villagers, how his Muslim friend had driven all the way 400kms to reach here in time , I was indifferent to the gaze ,whispers & special attention of the villagers, to me all that matters is a friend and his friendship ! regardless of his religion , if he is in my heart than I too would like to do my best to stay in his !!
All the rites & rituals were completed throughout the day and after taking a good night sleep , Me and my kids took leave and headed back towards Mumbai

An optimist sees an opportunity in every calamity. A pessimist sees a calamity in every opportunity.

Early in the morning I stopped somewhere on the way and decided to show some of my fishy tricks to my kids, this was not the right time to fish ( neap tide with rough and windy monsoon sea ) if you guys remember somewhere in my earlier post I had written that I fish regardless to the time & tide and this was one of those times ! And my plan was to spend the whole day fishing with my kids and again drive at night towards Mumbai
I attached a brand new lure from a reputed company and at the very first cast it was grabbed by a big greedy monster grouper , it was a huge one judging by its powerful tug immediately after I set the hook and cranked my reel ,he quickly dived into the rock near him , I tried every trick in my book but the damm thing wouldn't budge an inch he was safe and secure down there in his hole , now the waiting game had began !!!! I waited for almost two hours giving him a chance to come out !! But he did not ! so had to cut the line and tie it to a 17kg block of rock and I attached a new leader and lure and resumed my fishing a little further from the place but no luck !! Then came back to find the heavy block of the rock missing !!! My line ,leader , lure and the fish had vanished !!! No trace of anything anywhere !!!
I now drove to another place with calmer waters and was rewarded handsomely
The kids also enjoyed every moment of fishing with me
